The past me smiled when sadness viewed
With “likes” and “hearts” and things to do
I puffed my chest
But curled in bed
And prayed to pride to rest its head
I danced and clapped when silence gloomed
Around most people and empty rooms
But… If I don’ts… abraded my thoughts
The best of me I almost lost
The past me cares about what you think
But past is gone and now there’s me
