Meditation Monday
Sometimes the beginning of the week can be the most hectic. We have lists in our minds, paper on our desks, and people to put up with on our jobs. At this moment, and in this space you have an opportunity to relax your mind and your anxieties. Choose to have 30 minutes of peace right now! The work, todos, and people will still be there when you’re done I’m sure of it. But when you choose to have mental health, you offer your “best self” to the day. After refreshing your mind and spirit, the rest of the day is forced to get into alignment with the standard of peace you have presented to yourself. Check out this clip from Dr. Beckwith and let me know what you think! Selah #SLiM

One of the greatest challenges in being “great” is developing patients. Patients to keep learning, keep pressing, keep smiling, keep being kind, to keep being hopeful even when things look to be going opposite of your way. Patients is one of the fruits of the spirit which is love.
True love says that “For God so loved the world that He gave” so giving is the personality of God and the personality of love. Why is it important to know this??? Because if you are in a relationship with God, then you must understand that love makes you wait because love perfects your gift before giving it to you.
For example, I can run to Walgreens and pick up any card and any gift, put it in a random bag and give my husband the present. But… because I love him, I go to the store look for a gift that would make him smile. I take the time to go up and down each aisle until I find something he would love and enjoy. Lastly, I choose a bag to wrap this gift into something that makes the present shine. If I love my husband enough to do all of this, how much do you think God loves us.
Yes, God wants us to have what we need and desire, but He doesn’t want to give it to us haphazardly. God takes His time, chooses the best gift with the best wrapping delivered in the best time so that it’s not only appreciated but cherished. Today, exercise patients and watch God bless you with a gift greater than you ever expected.

Let Humans be Humans
When I woke up today the scripture in Mark chapter 12:31 was in my heart-
31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
When I was praying God told me that we must be reminded that everyone on this earth has had good days, bad days, made mistakes, accomplished something, had a friend, lost a friend, the list can go on and on. But the point is that despite our choices, actions, or lifestyle we as human beings are more alike than different. And we as the people of God have a responsibility to love instead of dehumanizing.
If we are honest, we are quick to justify then forgive ourselves, but can we say the same for our neighbor? Let’s practice LIVING the Word of God today. I can know you are a thief and still genuinely care about you getting to know Christ and His love. Will I leave my purse around you…? NO… but I can still be there for you and pray for you. Our differences shouldn’t be a barricade between Gods love and intention for our neighbor. We can do better body of Christ… we Will do better. Peace

There is fortitude in victory!
There are going to be both high and low days on the road to success. Take each day with fortitude, know where you are going by making a plan … then on the days where your faith is being tried, you can put the vision in front of you and muster up the strength to keep moving. Sometimes you must tell your feelings to take a seat so that you can stand in the midst of your oncoming victory!
Peace… Selah

How do I become a person who prays? #keepitreal
Too many times in our life, situations pile up like five o clock traffic, and while we’re in the midst of feeling stuck and aggravated, we do what comes naturally to us. Call a friend, scroll twitter, facebook or other social media. So today I want to talk to you about making prayer a natural reaction to life. Just like any habit, prayer is something you work at until your muscle memory defaults to prayer. You can train your thoughts to be on God when things are happening in your life. How? Start with 5 minutes a day; there is an amazing prayer app called “ the prayer app” that has tons of prayers for every occasion. Most of the prayers are less than 2 minutes long, download the app (it’s free) and find five minutes of your day to stop and pray. It has been said that it takes 21 days to create a habit, so if you can commit today to taking 5 minutes to pray for 21 days, I guarantee your life will never be the same. Let me know if you can commit 5 Minutes to pray for 21 days!
Peace

What do you Eat?
Many times when you have an ailment in your body and you can’t explain how it came to be, a doctor asks you to make a list of the things you eat. The concept is that you are putting something into your body that is harming you because there is no sign of destruction from the inside. A list allows the doctor to see your habits, and what you have been feeding your body, so that he can then pinpoint what is going wrong.
Today, if something is ailing you in your life, I ask… what are you eating? If you made a list of all the conversations, television, radio, friendship, and relationships you have subjected yourself to, could you put your finger on what’s hurting you the most? Sometimes we think God is doing something to us or life has an agenda against us when that’s not true! Some of the issues we face is because we allow it into our life. We have to be careful what we eat ladies and gentlemen. God has made us in such a beautifully courageous way, but it is our responsibility to aid this flesh with the best nutrients possible. What is the best? Prayer time, positive television, uplifting friends, relationships that push you and don’t pull you down. You are in control of what occupies you mind and your heart, so it may be time to get on a spiritual diet. Take back the control and cut out whats hurting you.
Let’s throw out the toxins today! Peace

Quality Sleep
A little tip I learned while working with a psychologist was to make a to do list at the end of the day so that I could enjoy a more serene slumber. How…Write down all the things you would like to accomplish, so that when you put head to pillow your thoughts will not be jam-packed with tasks.
What makes this tip effective? To-do lists presents a level of accomplishment, every time you think of what needs to be done the next day, tell yourself that you already addressed it in the to do list, then move on. We have enough baggage during the day, you deserve to have a peaceful sleep. It’s time we take a strong hold on our time. The bible tells us to cast our cares upon a God who doesn’t sleep or slumber. We accomplish nothing by allowing issues and tasks run rapid in our thoughts day and night. Write them down and put them away so that you can truly appreciate sweet dreams.
