Gods Intention

One of my favorite scriptures is Jeremiah 1:5. It says “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I set you apart.”

During a struggle or trial, we are often told to pray… which is correct,  worship… which is also correct, but I have a thought to offer. During a struggle or trial why don’t we consider and remember.  We are not haphazardly existing on this earth. You and I were chosen by God to live in this world at this time. Such love, vision, and compassion can not be dismissed because of a negative coworker, cheating spouse or flat tire right??!! As Christians, we should not dismiss the robust intention of God with a temporal moment of anger, sadness or even depression.

This year it’s time to hold fast to the word of God in our life. We are His people and being His people no trial, struggle, illness, person, item (or lack of item) will discourage us in our relationship and faith in Christ! This time, remember who you are and that if you are living God still has something amazing planned for your life. Don’t believe me just pick up your Bible, it says the very same thing. Peace.. Selah

How do I become a person who prays? #keepitreal

Too many times in our life, situations pile up like five o clock traffic, and while we’re in the midst of feeling stuck and aggravated, we do what comes naturally to us. Call a friend, scroll twitter, facebook or other social media. So today I want to talk to you about making prayer a natural reaction to life. Just like any habit, prayer is something you work at until your muscle memory defaults to prayer. You can train your thoughts to be on God when things are happening in your life. How? Start with 5 minutes a day; there is an amazing prayer app called “ the prayer app” that has tons of prayers for every occasion. Most of the prayers are less than 2  minutes long, download the app (it’s free) and find five minutes of your day to stop and pray. It has been said that it takes 21 days to create a habit, so if you can commit today to taking 5 minutes to pray for 21 days, I guarantee your life will never be the same. Let me know if you can commit 5 Minutes to pray for 21 days!

What do you Eat?

Many times when you have an ailment in your body and you can’t explain how it came to be, a doctor asks you to make a list of the things you eat. The concept is that you are putting something into your body that is harming you because there is no sign of destruction from the inside. A list allows the doctor to see your habits, and what you have been feeding your body, so that he can then pinpoint what is going wrong.

Today, if something is ailing you in your life, I ask… what are you eating? If you made a list of all the conversations, television, radio, friendship, and relationships you have subjected yourself to, could you put your finger on what’s hurting you the most?  Sometimes we think God is doing something to us or life has an agenda against us when that’s not true! Some of the issues we face is because we allow it into our life. We have to be careful what we eat ladies and gentlemen. God has made us in such a beautifully courageous way, but it is our responsibility to aid this flesh with the best nutrients possible. What is the best? Prayer time, positive television, uplifting friends, relationships that push you and don’t pull you down. You are in control of what occupies you mind and your heart, so it may be time to get on a spiritual diet. Take back the control and cut out whats hurting you.

Let’s throw out the toxins today! Peace

Let it go!

When I was younger I would listen to Mariah Carey “Butterfly” over and over again. Being a teen you have no idea the depth of the words you are singing,  but as a adult you realize that this “butterfly” effect is something we experience time and time again in many facets of our relationships.

The butterfly effect is an idea that you let someone or something go , and if its meant to be it will come back to you. When you accept the notation of letting people be themselves, and let God be God, you in turn free yourself from the desire to “perfect” a relationship. To free ourselves from a person, job, relationship, or habit it means that we no longer look for the day or time a person would do what you want them to do, or say what you want them to say. By letting a person or situation go from your grips we often mask with titles such as love, friendship, or helping… we mature to a place where love and respect flourishes then you intern are free from the bondage of a toxic relationship.

So often we hold on to the very thing God is trying to rescue us from. Stop fighting and allow the caterpillar to become a butterfly in their season and their time. Spread your wings butterfly and if the job, person, relationship, or thing you are holding on to so tightly is meant to be in your life… it will be. Today free yourself, and free that relationship. Peace

Im talking to You!

Sometimes our greatest battle rests with ourselves. We know who we want to be, should be, could be … but there is something we battle which keeps us from reaching potential. This month I have challenged “self” and pushed to a point of desperation by cutting off something I love TV! Why, because I have to teach my flesh that it will be denied; my calling supersedes emotion or need to be coddled by entertainment. I had to tell my flesh yes, you may be emotional, or stressed, but you will perform at maximum capacity because we are representing the Kingdom of God, and there is work to be done. Comfort comes at the end of the day when you have maximized every opportunity to glorify God with the gifts and talents you were blessed with. Its time to stop working so hard to be comfortable and strive to be exceptional. The journey starts now…

Good Lovin XOXO

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 New International Version (NIV)

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away

The word of God is not only truth, but it is life. This scripture is not a cute quote to put on your wedding invite, tattoo, or office desk… it’s a blue print from God our Father to His sons and daughters mapping out the reality of true love. The scripture is not a poem, it’s a standard. I challenge you to love yourself enough to hold “love” against a light and evaluate it. Judge love by its attributes; celebrate when it’s good, but if your love doesn’t match up with the love of the Father, then you need to dismiss the impostor and move on. The right kind of love inspires greatness. Peace.

Its time to stand up for the God in you. Obstacles, problems, stress are not of God. God tells us to bring Him our pain, anguish, and confusion. I love the song “freedom” by the walls because they speak truth. The past is history. When are you going to stand on who you are today? If you have asked Jesus to be your Lord and Savior, you no longer have to be bound by past mistakes, thoughts or occurrences. Enjoy the liberty of being forgiven! I challenge you to say a prayer of repentance, then write the things you have done on pieces of paper… take the paper and throw it way, burn it, put it under water… basically destroy it so that you can physically put it behind you. The devil wants you in a prison of shame and guilt; God said you are more than your mistakes. Welcome freedom!

Close your mouth and open your eyes :-)

I am so thankful to be in school right now. I’m in Sonship School of the First born, and it is literally changing my husband and I’s life. The first lesson breaks down the power of prayer and how you and I should say what God says. What does that mean? Instead of saying what ever comes to your mind when you pray, go into the word of God and find what God thinks about your prayer topic. True intimacy pushes you to find out more about the person your in a relationship with. Its time we find out what God sounds like vs. what we sound like when we speak aloud. What does love have to do with it?

So many times we hear songs about love and how it makes us either happy or mad. I have a new years challenge, allow Gods love to inspire something great out of you this year. Love in its most beautiful state births life to something new, so what will love develop in you this year? The angry ” I’ll bust the windows out your car” or ” we are the world, we are the children” world changing love that pushes beyond your comfort zone in effort to be better than ever before? I personally will not let the fear or giving uninhibited love, stop or slow me down when developing the inspiration God has placed in me through love. What road will you take?
