A Real Relationship

I love that in this day and age (for the most part) the Christian message is relationship with God not acts or religion…. relationship.

In this episode of Iyanla Fix My Life we see a gospel artist who has covered her addiction with her abilities. We know how easy that is, as a society we become master shape shifters when it comes to exposing our weakness. Instead of presenting ourselves with our weaknesses we promote our talent and hope the world never sees our opposing habits.

What’s beautiful about God is that He wants all of us both good and bad. The bible says in Mathew 11:28 that we should come to Him weary and burdened so that we can receive rest. It is not Gods intention for us to work so hard to hide our imperfections. Instead he offers shelter and solace in replace of our pain.

Check out this clip and understand that every one of us has an issue in which we need to turn over to God.  Take yourself off the stage and walk into the welcoming arms of God today.

Meditation Monday

Guess what…. its Monday! Here on good girl issues, I’m here to help you take control of your week. By making a few minutes to mediate, you can not only change the atmosphere, but you can change your outlook on the entire week!  In Psalms 46:10 God instructs us to be still and Know God, which means that when we choose to sit in the presence of God, with an open areas and a closed mouth, then we can attain real peace and understanding. while it is appropriate to have question and conversation with God, I challenge you to be still today. Allow God to impart His peace into your week. Selah

Meditation Monday

Sometimes the beginning of the week can be the most hectic. We have lists in our minds, paper on our desks, and people to put up with on our jobs. At this moment, and in this space you have an opportunity to relax your mind and your anxieties. Choose to have 30 minutes of peace right now! The work, todos, and people will still be there when you’re done I’m sure of it. But when you choose to have mental health, you offer your “best self” to the day. After refreshing your mind and spirit, the rest of the day is forced to get into alignment with the standard of peace you have presented to yourself. Check out this clip from Dr. Beckwith and let me know what you think! Selah #SLiM
