Clean House

If you don’t like where you are right now, then it’s time to clean house! The year has not yet come to a close so you still have the opportunity to meet your goals and achieve your dreams.

Look around, what in your life can you alleviate? What in your life do you need to elevate? Be practical make a list… You have control over your future but you have to demand it. If you want to be healthy buy healthier food, if you want to start working out you may need to wake up early or stay up a little bit later to get into the gym, if you want a healthy relationship then you may need to quit a relationship that’s toxic!

There are only a few more months left in this year don’t live it haphazardly, make today the day that you begin to live intentionally. Don’t be afraid to clean out those things that are not conducive to your best future. You’re not alone, I’m cleaning house this month too.😉 SELAH

24 hours

Sometimes we can get so comfortable with life that we fail to see what our greatest influencers are. If you or I sat down and wrote out how the last 24 hours were spent… what would you find? If you don’t like how your time is spent, then it’s time make some adjustments.

You don’t have to conquer the entire 24 hours immediately, but today make the decision to change 1 hour of your day to be more constructive or productive. Over time your day will be filled with more of the things that you like and less of what you don’t. With that combination… you’re sure to propel your future. Selah #SLiM

The most powerful question

Who must I become to achieve my greatest desire?

It is easy to say… “I’d like to be a teacher, doctor, singer” ect. but do you consider who you need to be to make the dream a reality? It is not helpful in your purpose to want success but not work for success. In every season of my life I go through a phase with God where He is reconstructing my way of thinking. The month of August is the eighth month of the year and eight is the number of new beginnings, in my prayer time God did not share with me a new idea. . he showed me a discipline.

Before I could handle something new I needed to master habits of a person with my gifts. Now this may not be easy for everyone to accept about themselves, but I ask you a question tonight. If you were blessed with the one thing you desire to be or desire to have, could you right now in this moment take care of that gift and prosper in that gift?

If the answer is not a certain yes then you too must ask the question, who do I need to be an order to maximize my gift and potential.

For example if my goal is to graduate college and eventually get my doctorate I have to be a studious student. If I want to be a trainer in a gym I must have the work ethic to make it to the gym more than once a week. If I’d like to be a singer I need to develop the vocal skills needed to perform often. In your life what who has God told you to be? Are you that person, are you trying to be that person or have you simply given up. Knowing is the first step of dramatic change so now that you know ask yourself, then prepare, and watch God transform your life. Selah #SLiM

Who you with?

I was watching an interview, and Oprah quotes Mya Angelo saying – “I come as 1 but stand as 10,000” this poem immediately mirrored a scripture I have been speaking as a little girl 1 John 4:4 “Greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world.”

What does all that mean, it means that you are the result of two thousand and seventeen years of strength and possibility. I am here because my mother made it through labor, her mother made it through civil rights, her mother made it through slavery, our father made it through the persecution of His Son for the redemption of our sins. You and I are not haphazardly existing. We are here because we stand on the shoulders of those who have persevered before us.

Today may be difficult, but you and I are here for a reason. We exist because of sacrifice and purpose. What has happened today, this month or even this year cannot diminish your victory unless you allow it?  You are already a part of a legacy of winners, I’m here to tell you don’t stop now! Don’t change the narrative from success to failure because things aren’t going your way.

Choose to stand with the triumphant. Choose to see the success of those who came before you even if you can’t stand on your own success today. When pain, disappointment, and anguish trying to get in bed with you, get out of those covers and choose to stand on the side of victory.  Because my friend whether you know it or not… you were made to be a winner.

Skipping P.T

When I was in the military,  we had to get up in the morning and do what’s called “PT” which is physical training. Every day whether you wanted to or not you are required to push your body to the limit doing long runs, pushups, sit ups and much more. Why? Because there was coming a day where you will be tested, and the test controls your progression or digression in the level of work and pay.

Much like the military you and I have tests coming up in our lives. In this season we have an opportunity to do “PT”  meaning reading books, taking classes, cutting television consumption, praying, worshiping, working out mind and spirit… but are you choosing to sit the exercise out?

Your next success is failing because you can not see past today’s effort. If you only realized the discipline it takes for you to get up and do what is required to succeed, then maybe you would stop skipping today’s  PT. You see, over time when you choose not to work a muscle out it gets weaker and weaker until it takes twice the effort to get it functioning again. So before you take another nap, another bite, or watch another meaningless show think about your future. Choose today to work on the unseen and watch yourself trail over any obstacle that comes in the future because now pushing yourself is simply a habit.

The “why not me” spirit

In life, we come full of reasons why things are not going the way we would like them to; But what if you decided to accept the truth that God did not make a mistake when creating you? What if you decided today that God and His Kingdom full of peace, prosperity, and love is meant for you? The word of God is full of His promise and love. Accept  His love and say…

I choose to say, “why not me.”

A blessing is coming, why wouldn’t I expect it to be mine?

Opening a business…. Why would it succeed?

In a relationship… why wouldn’t you be happy in it?

Today I encourage you to say why not me…. If you want it, Go after it!!!! God wants the best for you… and when you believe it, really believe it then your entire life will change for the better!

#sacrifice

Jim Rhon says: “for every disciplined effort there is a multiple reward.” In this year as we are pushing the limits and accomplishing all that God has put inside of us to do, It’s crucial that we remember there is no success without sacrifice.

Your dream will cost you… sleep, money, time, resources and even comfortability. But isn’t that the point? When you or I am fulfilling a purpose, we are doing something greater than ourselves, usually costing more than we typically have to give.

So today as you make that PB&J sandwich, miss that party, or miss funny moments on social media; remember your goal, your purpose, and your aspiration. Peace

Let Humans be Humans

When I woke up today the scripture in Mark chapter 12:31 was in my heart-

31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

When I was praying God told me that we must be reminded that everyone on this earth has had good days, bad days, made mistakes, accomplished something, had a friend, lost a friend, the list can go on and on. But the point is that despite our choices, actions, or lifestyle we as human beings are more alike than different. And we as the people of God have a responsibility to love instead of dehumanizing.

If we are honest, we are quick to justify then forgive ourselves, but can we say the same for our neighbor?  Let’s practice LIVING the Word of God today.  I can know you are a thief and still genuinely care about you getting to know Christ and His love. Will I leave my purse around you…? NO… but I can still be there for you and pray for you. Our differences shouldn’t be a barricade between Gods love and intention for our neighbor. We can do better body of Christ… we Will do better. Peace
