Wisdom Wednesday

A little wisdom goes a long way. I have made it a habit to have a healthy mind, body, and spirit, so every Wednesday I would like to share with you some wisdom that has helped me. Enjoy

Todays Quote :

“One of the greatest gifts you can give to anyone is the gift of attention”

Tis the season to be jolly but also attentive. We have learned this year the value of a relationship, today choose to water (send love) to the people you love and watch the relationship blossom.

Todays Quote :

“Happiness is not an accident. Nor is it something you wish for. Happiness is something you design”

The world would like us to believe that happiness is something that should rain down like dew from the sky when in all actuality is something you create. The way you create happiness is through perspective, gratefulness, and peace, all of which require work. So today choose to create a world where you and the little ones around you are happy.

Today’s Quote:

“You cannot change your destination overnight, but you can change your direction overnight “

Life can come at you so fast that you may feel as if you are losing control or being drowned by the experience, but I would like to encourage you to hold on. Take a deep breath and use this opportunity to ask God what you should be doing next. “ HELP” is a strong enough prayer when talking to God. Seek the right direction when the destination (as it often does) changes and watch God guide your mind and heart into the next step you should take.

Todays Quote is by Jim Rohn:

“A good objective of leadership is to help those who are doing poorly to do well and to help those who are doing well to do even better. “

This is the season of giving, helping someone else will bring joy into your home and your spirit! While you are thinking of someone to help, don’t forget about people who seem to have it all. This has been a tough year for us all and no one is exempt from trials and tribulation. Extend a hand and show some love to people around you this season.

Let the Glory of the Lord Arise- Prayer

Hello community,

I am a firm believer in a God that is greater than I could ever be. I share prayers on this blog because I believe that it is crucial for you and I to bring God in the mist of our parenting techniques. Why, because we don’t know all of the answers, and surprisingly letting our hands go at times brings the greatest clarity and even comfort. So, as you read the following prayer, let go of the stress and allow God to intervene and fill in the gaps of what’s missing in your day, your energy, and even your parenting ability.

Heavenly Father,

I ask that You let the Glory of the Lord rise upon me, according to Isaiah 60 verse 2. I ask You Lord to let Your Glory be seen on me throughout this day and to always show the mind of You Lord today and every day.

Heavenly Father I ask that when anyone looks upon me this day, they will see you Lord in and around me. Let every action that I do today proclaim you Lord in every way. In Jesus name we pray.

Amen

How to improve your Environment- Part 2

If you would like to be an active part of your community’s growth and revitalization, check out the following ideas.

Environment

  1. Choose a family “energy watchdog” to shut off lights, television, and dripping sinks when not in use.
  2. Switch your current Internet home page to an energy-saving one, such as Google’s “Blackle”, and turn down the computer screen brightness level as well. (It’s unhealthy for both the environment and your eyes.)
  3. Create a children’s nature garden. Create a path, label plants and trees, and schedule guided tours.
  1. Purchase recycled products as opposed to generic ones.
  2. When buying food or drinks of any kind, it is better to stick to a large jug or tub as opposed to a collection of individually packaged goods.

How to invite Peace- Part 2

In this time where so much breaks our heart, I want to introduce you to something that helps me stay calm and invite peace into my life. Meditation. Thank you mindfulness.org for the incredible tips!

What are the benefits of mindfulness meditation?

  1. Connect better: Ever find yourself staring blankly at a friend, lover, child, and you’ve no idea what they’re saying? Mindfulness helps you give them your full attention.
  2. Improve focus: It can be frustrating to have our mind stray off what we’re doing and be pulled in six directions. Meditation hones our innate ability to focus.

How to Uplift Your Community

If you would like to be an active part of your community’s growth and revitalization, check out the following ideas.

Homeless and/or Hungry

  1. Hold a book drive and donate the proceeds to the shelter, and then hold a read-a-thon or give a class on basic reading skills.
  1. Donate art supplies to the local shelter.
  2. Offer to repair or alter clothes for people who are homeless.
  3. Campaign to create a nursery in your local shelter, or help maintain an existing one.
  4. Always keep a few granola bars on hand!
