#newyearsresolution
We have entered and brand new year with new dreams, expectations, and even aspirations. While we are creating passions and goals, I propose to you thought. This year, choose to change your mind. So many of the things God has given to us is held up by a corrupted mindset. If you can control the direction of your thoughts, then you can change the direction of your life.
Why is the mind so important, because our thoughts represent our heart! Our thoughts supersede our actions. For example, many of us for the new year would like to lose weight, if our mindset hasn’t changed about getting healthier than our feet will never make it out of bed. We’ll set the alarm, buy a gym membership, even get the clothes to be stylish in the gym… but if our mind has not been convinced of the benefit of working out, then we simply won’t do it.
Today, as we take the first step toward this year’s goals, don’t forget your mind. Take time and focus on who mentally you want to be and make the rational decision to stick to it. When you feel too tired or discouraged to push forward to your goal, change your mind. Tell yourself that you are a finisher and God has not only given you the victory but the ability to accomplish what you have started.

I should be mourning…
I should be mourning
Death stings my ear as I hear the news
Buzzing through translation I inhale only to exhale the blues
Work builds up like skyscrapers kissing a glistening full moon
All the while I should be mourning
Why aren’t my shoulders hunched over and countenance low?
My brows dipped in like foot prints in newly fallen snow
How do I smile when things go so awry
The truth is The TRUTH IS let me tell you why
God is still God and I have a chance
To live, to work, to love again
So, while things stink like festering trash
I’m not a trash collector
That would be my dad
He gives beauty for ashes, grace for fear
Turns water into wine, and makes bread and fish appear
He told me its ok to cry… but when morning comes
Have joy because a marathon tried is a race well run.
God is able
No matter what you have at the end of the sentence… God is able…. period.
I’m a _____ Thief, liar, murder, fornicator, gossiper, not smart enough, not dedicated, depressed, bi- polar, sickly, homeless, on my last dollar, in need of car, worried about my child, cheating on my spouse, alone in a new city, single, an addict , fatherless, motherless, an addict, a porn star, a prostitute, drug dealer, in church but don’t know God, don’t know my purpose, don’t know who I am …..
I don’t care what it is God is able to see you through it, but you have to welcome him into your life!

Fridays
Smiles plastered as book bags drop
Plop plop YAY
Blankets gather together to see
Today is your pick, next week it’s on me
Cheese, butter, sweet, cold
No matter our age it never gets old
Family means you plus me plus time
We laugh until the sun runs behind the moon
Until our tummy looks full bloom
This is our day when work stands still
And anything serious gets forgotten
And being together is our thrill
A movie, a game, it doesn’t really matter
Listening, sharing, and admiring our smiles stuck on like plaster.
Prayer still works
We are all given the gift of perspective. Tonight as I look on twitter, Facebook, and other media outlets I have to turn to God and ask… “what am I seeing?” Beyond my carnal eyes there is a spiritual battle going on and it is my responsibility to do as God instructs and stand on my post with prayer. Many people ask, what can we do, what needs to be done? And the answer is not an easy or simple. It’s time we sacrifice our time, sleep, and social hour and get into our prayer closets and go to work.
The bible says we wrestle not with flesh and blood… what’s happening around us is more than a person against a person. It is spirits of anger, distrust and vulgarity. As christians we should want God to get the glory out of this mess, we need to take Gods perspective when deciding who we are and what we do.
Get off of your phone and get into your prayer closet, God will tell you exactly what to do from there.

Humbling Yourself Before the Lord Prayer
Humbling Yourself Before the Lord Prayer
We give our heart to You Lord, Please teach us to be humble. We give our feet to You Lord, please help us not to stumble. Our eyes belong to you Lord, to see Your Holy way. Help us to look straight ahead, and seek You every day. With our ears let us hear Lord, every time You call. We give ourselves to You Lord,
we will obey Your Law. We give our hands to You Lord, we lift them up in praise. We will worship You Lord, all our blessed days. Our mouth we give to You Lord, we shout with victory. We belong to You Lord, now we are living free. Amen
Psalms 20
Do you know that God has given both you and me the power to win??? The reason why it’s important to read our Bible, is because the word of God is a road map through the issues we encounter in life. Psalms 20 is a wonderful example of God’s grace for us and explains how God not only hear us, but handles the conditions we encounter on a daily basis. If you have not committed your heart to God and your lifestyle to the word of God than you will always be stuck fighting battles with a blind fold on. It’s time to put the devil in his place and let God handle everything. Trust me, God is our true champion. Peace
Psalms 20: May the Lord answer you when you are in distress;
may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.

#Fathersday
As Father’s day approaches I want to urge everyone to get to know the best Father you could ever have which is God.Whether you had a horrible dad or an amazing dad, it’s important that we acknowledge our role in contributing to who your physical father is in your life. It is our responsibilities to pray over the men in our life. Men are so strong and sometimes we forget that these protectors, laborers, and fortifiers needs spiritual covering as well. As this holiday approaches, let’s not just look for a tangible gift to give the father figures in our life, but this holiday presents the opportunity to sew spiritually into the men that we Love through prayer. Below I am going to present scriptures that you can incorporate into your gift of prayer over the men in your life. Happy Father’s Day!
Scriptures:
2 Peter 3:18, Proverbs 4:23- Concerning your loved ones relationship with God
Proverbs 15:33, Eph 6:6- That God will bless him
1 Corinthians 11:3- That they would be a spiritual leader for their family
Galatians 5:13-15- That they would make wise choices

Don’t let it KILL you!
One of my favorite authors Zig Ziglar says “Make failure your teacher, not your UNDERTAKER.” I love this quote because it reminds me of the transitions we have in life. Sometimes the road will be rough, often times events will not transpire the way we would like… but ultimately failures are merely stepping stones in the direction of success. Its ok to acknowledge the pain of disappointments and misfortune, but we cannot allow it to consume us.
When failure comes your way, accept it… mourn it … then ask two questions.
- Why did it happen
- What can I learn from it
Once you answer the questions, do something you enjoy to bring the mood up, then move on. Today I want to encourage someone…keep pushing…keep trying…keep working because in the end You Will Win!
