To Reduce stress!
One of the main benefits of meditation is stress reduction. Meditating in quite contemplation can help you relax, find peace of mind and ease tension so that you can control and manage your stress levels. Stress causes your heart rate and blood pressure to go up and too much of that can create health issues. Meditating for a few minutes every day helps you to let go of stress to achieve a relaxed state of mind.
Time to find peace…
Do you feel as if your life is full of stress? Then its time to do what I call a 360. Look around at your friends, family, job, and relationships to see what needs to change.
This meditation Monday I want to teach you how to find peace in your day to day life. One truth that must be told before peace is achieved is… what is the source of the stress?
- If the stress comes from finances, take a moment
and write down your bills.
- Check out Dave Ramsey which is and incredible resource for budgets and a debt free life!!!
- Relationships- learn how to say goodbye to people who do not positively contribute to your faith and development.
- Family- write out what the issues are in your
family, what problems and concerns have you been holding on through the years
and ask yourself two questions:
- What would your day look like if I chose to forgive them?
- What would my life look like if they were not in it?
The answers to this question will allow you to see if that person should be in your life. This also allows you to see that forcing the family member has nothing to do with the opposing family member and everything to do with your daily peace. Forgiving your family member will free you from the obligation of anger, sadness, and stress.

Monday Meditation
When you think of meditation the picture is usually sitting in a quiet candle lit room clearing your mind and heart of the things which may ailed you. But there is more to mind cleansing meditation.
In fact there are activities you can do to calm yourself down and free yourself from stress. I will list 3 of my favorites below, let me know if you try or enjoy these as well.
- Singing-
- I have a playlist for EVERYTHING, one for being happy, sad, motivated and more. Music has a unique ability to lift you beyond the current mental state and into the place you would like to be. Make a playlist, sing the songs, and watch your mood instantly change.
- Painting-
- Letting your emotions out artistically is always a great way to express your mood without negative repercussions. With art you can be as sharp and dark as you would like and then walk away leaving both the art and the emotion on the canvas.
- Work out-
- Instead of allowing emotion to build up try going to the gym and working out your emotions. When you are in the gym you can turn off the situation in your mind and turn on your adrenaline!

When it comes to sleep if you are not getting adequate time or can’t seem to settle your mind down long enough to rest than you may need to adjust your sleeping habits. Below is a list of tips to help you gain the rest you deserve.
- Use your bed only for sleep and sex.
- Make your bedroom quiet and relaxing. Keep the room at a comfortable, cool temperature.
- Limit exposure to bright light in the evenings.
- Turn off electronic devices at least 30 minutes before bedtime.
Meditation Monday
As we get closer to the new year, it’s easy to get overwhelmed by what could have and should have happened this year. I want to offer a moment of clarity. Stop running from the should of, could of, and would of and focus on what is. You are here now and still, have the opportunity to be celebrated in 2018. The potential that was ignited in you from January could still reign true in December. Don’t give up, you can do it! Check out the meditation video and let me know what you think. Selah.
Meditation Monday:
Do you know how to center yourself? We are constantly receiving information from people, social media, employers, magazines and more that shape and mold how we see ourselves and how we experience our life. It is essential for you and me to know how to recalibrate our daily experiences and know how to get quiet in front of GOD.
This is where meditation comes in, Mediation Monday is an intentional opportunity for you to be quiet and allow God to speak to you. Take a moment today and sit in silence. Allow Gods peace to come in and reinvent your day. Selah

Do you know where your power lives?
In love… if we learn to love one another and love ourselves, we can then become people who love our jobs, our homes, and our community. This meditation Monday tune into love. When something goes wrong in your day, ask yourself ” how can I help this situation with love?” Check out this new song from Tori Kelly, its a beautiful expression of love and worship. Selah

Ok, ladies and gents, by now you should be looking forward to your moment of positivity, light, and rejuvenation. God says in His word that above all He wishes that you prosper and be in good health. Do you know that stress and worry can negatively affect your health? Today give your mind some medicine, take a moment away from the clutter of the day and find Gods peace, so that you too can prosper and live the life God intended for you. Selah #SLiM
Meditation Monday
Sometimes the beginning of the week can be the most hectic. We have lists in our minds, paper on our desks, and people to put up with on our jobs. At this moment, and in this space you have an opportunity to relax your mind and your anxieties. Choose to have 30 minutes of peace right now! The work, todos, and people will still be there when you’re done I’m sure of it. But when you choose to have mental health, you offer your “best self” to the day. After refreshing your mind and spirit, the rest of the day is forced to get into alignment with the standard of peace you have presented to yourself. Check out this clip from Dr. Beckwith and let me know what you think! Selah #SLiM
