It’s Meditation Monday!!

Are you guys ready for the next step toward emotional freedom?

Step 2:

See Boundaries

If you took time to get “quiet” last week then you probably noticed a few thoughts or worries that tried to compete with your quiet space. The disturbances may have appeared as bills, tasks, people, situations… what are you supposed to do with these thoughts and feelings so that you can have a true time of quiet or peace?

You must acknowledge the negativity, I call it “see the boundaries.”

 Follow the steps below:

–  When a thought or worry presents itself, write it down

– After you write the worry down, take a moment and think of the solution

– When you are having “quiet” time and the worry appears, tell yourself that you have already solved the problem. This gives the problem permission to leave your quiet space.

Join me next Monday as we gain more tools towards peace and tranquility.

Meditation Monday:

How do you begin calming your mind and uplifting your spirit?

STEP 1: You must learn how to get quiet.

Quiet means more than a lack of speaking, it’s a moment of peace, where interferences of any kind is not welcome.  You may think that you know how to be quiet, but there is a skill to being still. Look at the steps below and try this week to have a quiet moment.

Take a moment in your day to sit and be still.

  • Cut off or silence all technology
  • Dim the lights in the room you are in (or light a candle)
  • Close your eyes
  • Get in a comfortable position (sitting or lying down)
  • RELAX

This quiet moment can be 30 seconds to 5 minutes, just allow yourself to be still and uninterrupted. Let me know how the experience is for you!

Can Meditation improve health?

YES… it Encourages a healthy lifestyle.
Studies have shown that meditating increases your immunity and helps fight off diseases. Meditation causes you to relax, which increases a compound called nitric oxide that dilates your blood vessels and causes your blood pressure to drop. A lower blood pressure improves your cardiovascular and immune health, as well as helps you to have a better night’s rest!

Why Meditate?

To Reduce stress!
One of the main benefits of meditation is stress reduction. Meditating in quite contemplation can help you relax, find peace of mind and ease tension so that you can control and manage your stress levels. Stress causes your heart rate and blood pressure to go up and too much of that can create health issues. Meditating for a few minutes every day helps you to let go of stress to achieve a relaxed state of mind.

Meditation Monday:

Do you know how to find peace?

During the last 8 months of my life, I have been through the most transformative experiences. Experiences that made me evaluate my values, passions, and direction in life. One thing that stood firm in this time of transition was the need for peace. I gained some things, lost some things but found a true center, a solid direction that is unwavering. This came by asking myself honest questions. I encourage you to use the last few months of this year and ask some difficult questions that will lead you to a bright and clear 2020. Welcome, a 2020 that is surrounded by peace.

Questions:

  1. What do I want out of life?
  2. Why?
  3. What is the basis of my faith/ why do I believe what I believe?

Time to find peace…

Do you feel as if your life is full of stress? Then its time to do what I call a 360. Look around at your friends, family, job, and relationships to see what needs to change.

This meditation Monday I want to teach you how to find peace in your day to day life. One truth that must be told before peace is achieved is… what is the source of the stress?

  • If the stress comes from finances, take a moment and write down your bills.
    • Check out Dave Ramsey which is and incredible resource for budgets and a debt free life!!!
  • Relationships- learn how to say goodbye to people who do not positively contribute to your faith and development.
  • Family- write out what the issues are in your family, what problems and concerns have you been holding on through the years and ask yourself two questions:
    • What would your day look like if I chose to forgive them?
    • What would my life look like if they were not in it?

The answers to this question will allow you to see if that person should be in your life. This also allows you to see that forcing the family member has nothing to do with the opposing family member and everything to do with your daily peace. Forgiving your family member will free you from the obligation of anger, sadness, and stress.

Monday Meditation

When you think of meditation the picture is usually sitting in a quiet candle lit room clearing your mind and heart of the things which may ailed you. But there is more to mind cleansing meditation.

In fact there are activities you can do to calm yourself down and free yourself from stress. I will list 3 of my favorites below, let me know if you try or enjoy these as well.

  1. Singing-
    1. I have a playlist for EVERYTHING, one for being happy, sad, motivated and more. Music has a unique ability to lift you beyond the current mental state and into the place you would like to be. Make a playlist, sing the songs, and watch your mood instantly change.
  2. Painting-
    1. Letting your emotions out artistically is always a great way to express your mood without negative repercussions. With art you can be as sharp and dark as you would like and then walk away leaving both the art and the emotion on the canvas.
  3. Work out-
    1. Instead of allowing emotion to build up try going to the gym and working out your emotions. When you are in the gym you can turn off the situation in your mind and turn on your adrenaline!

Monday Meditation

What experience plagues your thoughts?

We all are on a journey going toward purpose and passion but sometimes we are distracted by bills, responsibilities and urgent matters.

Mediation Monday is a time where you make a conscious effort to close the “to-dos” of the day and grab a handful of peace.

Take a moment and think about the one problem that runs laps around your thoughts. Is it a bill? Are you concerned with a child, maybe a relationship?  Take a moment and finish this sentence:

I am afraid that _____________________________________________ will happen if I cannot fix this issue.

__________________________________________ what I can do about it.

____________________________________________how long it would take to get better.

___________________________________________ who must I become if this doesn’t get better.

You have just laid out the complete scenario. Now take a moment and breathe. You no longer have a reason to replay the issue or concern because you have written out the fear and tangible solution.

Find a quiet place and take 5 long breaths.

When this issue comes back into your thoughts, tell yourself that you have already thought through the situation and dismiss the situation from your thoughts. Choose peace.

Meditation Monday

This month we are discussing peaceful sleep. Did you know that sleep is just as important as working out and eating healthy?

When it comes to sleep if you are not getting adequate time or can’t seem to settle your mind down long enough to rest than you may need to adjust your sleeping habits. Below is a list of tips to help you gain the rest you deserve.

  • Use your bed only for sleep and sex.
  • Make your bedroom quiet and relaxing. Keep the room at a comfortable, cool temperature.
  • Limit exposure to bright light in the evenings.
  • Turn off electronic devices at least 30 minutes before bedtime.
